January 2002

Protons.  Heard it before? January 20th the level was almost down to normal but still some
factor blocking out most of the trans polar signals. Auroral activity?

  1 - 21.1  Nothing worth any listening.
22.1  When I swithced on at 0705 there were fine signals on a few frequencies at the high end of the
MW band. I soon understood that only Florida and Georgia was heard!  But I was not
prepared and not motivated so I missed most of it. Still WMNE was all new to me.
23.1  Similar FL reception as 24 hours earlier but a little bit weaker.
24 - 30.1  Nothing in the log.  A combination of not too good reception conditions and sporadic listening.
31.1  Two hours of fair signals from the north east of North America.

North America (UTC)
